I'm writing on my new Dell laptop, sitting on the sofa, connected to wireless!  Still not used to the keyboard, esp. the caps shift key on my right hand side.  Did too much sugar yesterday so am tired today.  Bindi has been waking me up in the middle of the night to go out and pee.  That's a new one.  Hope she doesn't have some sort of urinary infection or something.  Carolyn is coming for a visit a week from tomorrow, and I'm very excited to have her here.

Saw one client yesterday, and did some more cleaning, and took a long nap as Patti's two friends were staying at the house for a couple of nights and I had to play host a bit.  A guy she knows from high school and his daughter.  They were very nice.  They live in Juneau, Alaska, and the daughter is looking at colleges around the northeast, including Yale.  He invited me to visit in Juneau and I just might.  Have always wanted to go to Alaska.

Had dinner with Joanne and Pat on Friday night at their house, a lovely old brownstone with very high ceilings and four floors!!  Do not envy those stairs.  Bindi was very well behaved and played with their dog Alfie for a while, even tho Alfie stole Bindi's bone that I had brought to keep Bindi occupied.  That was ok.  We like to share.

Daffodils and the like are coming up here, but it's still cold.  I look forward to being able to plant some cold weather crops in the next couple of weeks.  Gonna plant tons of lavender in my community garden spot so I can harvest it and make lovely smelling gifts.

Whew. I'm tired.  Last day of spring break, and I think I'm the only one in the building, waiting till 5:30 so I can meet someone for dinner.  Bindi took a long nap in her office dog bed.  My printer is acting up.  Will try to write more when I feel more energized.

We're getting a beautiful snowstorm after several weeks of very mild weather.  Might get about a foot of snow.  My new neighbor Annette has invited me over to her house tomorrow, and fortunately I can slog thru the powder with Bindi under my arm for a visit.  She seems so glad that I made contact with her, and I'm so glad she was approachable.  I brought in a lot of firewood and kindling and tomorrow will be light a fire and finally take down the ornaments on the Norfolk pine tree in the living room.  If my knee were better, I'd go for a little hike in the snowy woods, but that's out.  Went to a new haircutter yesterday in Madison.  The woman I usually go to in Guilford is impossible to get an appointment with, so when I saw a woman in the drugstore in Madison with a good looking crewcut I asked her who did it, and she recommended Eric at "Hair at Phil's" or something like that which coincidentally is run by relatives of "Phil's" hair salon in New Haven that started out as a barber shop 30 years ago and where I used to go for haircuts.  Eric was ok, not great, a little too fast and not as gentle as I like with my head, but he gave me a free tube of hair gel and said to come back in if I needed anything "tweaked."  We talked about knees and he had arthroscopy a few years ago and said it was nothing much to go thru.  Which was encouraging.  I liked the way the salon was set up.  There was a separate small room for each client.  Felt very posh, but the cut was $15 less than the woman I usually go to, tho I like her very much.  It's good to have a backup. What boring blog content.  Oh well, that's my life.  Saw one counseling client today.

Well, my knee is a mess, and I see the surgeon on Feb. 20.  And now I'm getting a cold.  Going to a workshop tomorrow on Tackling Your To Do List with the 4 D's, whatever that is.  It's a free lunch, so that's an incentive.  We're supposed to bring our to do list.  Can anyone say wheelbarrel full of paper!?!?!?!!  Cold here.  Laura and Geeta are going with me.

Oh woe is me.  Been home all week but Monday with my bum knee.  Saw the doc who said there is a bit more arthritis in the left knee, with spurs.  Have an MRI tomorrow.  Guess I'll get results next week.  Have mostly been in bed cause bending my left leg at the knee hurts so much.  Treatment unclear until MRI results come back.  I'm trying not to beat myself up about not being able to lose more weight, as this makes knee problems infinitely worse.  Only I pay the price, in pain.
